Key West
"Nick found Key West's funkiness
enthralling
and asked if we could return sometime for
a real visit - a sentiment that described the
frustration I felt over our rigid schedule."
Pippin Ross, Globe Correspondent
Boston Globe. Sep 14, 2003.
KEY WEST has been called Americas only Caribbean
Island! Its the southernmost part of the United States
at the end of the Florida Keys a chain of islands
off the southern tip of Florida. Unlike its Caribbean neighbors;
it can be reached by car, bus, plane and boat! Yes, you can
drive to this tropical island getaway even though it is over one hundred miles out to sea!
KEY WEST is linked to the mainland by a series of
over forty bridges! Its airport serves both international
and domestic flights. And a high speed catamaran from Miami,
cruise ships, and other public and private vessels regularly
pull into the docks at Key West.
The Island has a temperature that is nearly perfect all year
round. The mean temperature varies by only 15 degrees! And
you can view spectacular sunsets as you enjoy the Sunset Celebration
in Mallory Square followed by the unique nightlife of Duval
Street.
A KEY WEST vacation is as diverse as you want it to
be.
